A Dream Come True!

Buddy

Happy Monday, friends!Forgive me for not being as regular as usual with my postings! Things are getting a little crazy since we are 15 DAYS from the launch of Dear Carolina! How did that happen??

Anyway, I wanted to talk about something other than a the book today. I really did. I wanted to tell you all about High Point Market and getting to meet Thom Filica (!) but, well, frankly, the book is All. I. Can. Think. About.

This quote, “Sometimes you can’t make a dream come true all by yourself,” is from Dear Carolina. And, in the days leading up to this launch, am I ever poignantly reminded of how insanely true that is. I may have written the book, but I am humbled and honored by all of the people who have helped along the way, most recently the amazing reviewers and pre-readers.

I’m not sure any have touched me as deeply as Carolyn from Vintage Mulberry’s. She is a beautiful, brave and oh-so-talented woman with an incredible family. She has become a good blog friend of my mom and mine over the past few years, and I was honored that this book led her to share a very personal experience on her blog. And that this book touched her in such a personal way? Well, there are no words. I hoped people would enjoy Dear Carolina, be entertained by it. But I’m not sure I expected anyone to connect with it in such a way. It was such a magical feeling! Thank you, Carolyn, for sharing your story. You are amazing!

Another really fabulous review came in this weekend from none other than the gorgeous and talented and hysterically funny Jaime Pressly, one of the stars of CBS’s hit comedy series Mom. If you haven’t watched it, make sure to check it out! To say I was completely starstruck by this is an understatement. I kind of can’t believe it! But, well, I shouldn’t have been surprised that she is as generous as she is lovely.

Sigh… Anyway, if anyone is interested in getting a signed copy for themselves or as a Mother’s Day gift (I’ve had orders for bridesmaid’s gifts too! Isn’t that cute?) email me at kristy@kristywoodsonharvey.com, and I’ll get you one ASAP.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for all your support. I don’t think it gets any better than this!

  • You deserve all this praise dear, I will definitely post mine this coming Sunday! So happy for you, and thinking about THE BOOK is totally understandable!

  • It seems your book resonates with many who have created and re-created family, those who have given up their own and reconnected years later. I received a message from my cousin yesterday who after reading my review, and your guest post ordered your book, always interested in stories about family and shared with me her very personal story. I was honored that she chose to share with me. Your book is a light for those who have experienced similar. ~M

    • Thank you, Maria. And that is so wonderful about your cousin. I’m so honored!

  • Kristy,
I am not surprised one bit by the outpouring of love for this book! I love the book and am working on my “review”, which is such an honor, and I feel a responsibility, to write well.
Make notes of the magical time, you’ll remember this as the launch, not only of your first book, but the beginning of a successful career as a talented writer with a huge fan base!
    xo,
    Karen

  • I can’t wait for my book to arrive so I can read it. I pre-ordered my copy back when it was first available for pre ordering and hope it arrives in time for me to have you sign it on May 11th !!!! So excited to read the book and to meet you!
    xo
