Well, we made it! A Happier Life is officially out in the world, at a bookstore near you and, I hope, about to be on your nightstand or in your beach bag as well!
My eleventh novel—my favorite book I have ever written–-is perhaps the one I’m the most excited ever to share with you. Inspired by the unusual deaths of my great aunt and uncle in the 1970s (deaths that, in my mind, were never quite “solved”) and an abandoned house that I was one of the first people to enter after it had been empty for fifty years, this novel is the culmination of two events that have occupied my imagination for decades. It is also my love letter to the historic seaside town of Beaufort, NC and my first-ever puppy, Salt.
I want to invite you—as hostess extraordinaire and protagonist Rebecca Saint James would—to join me in Beaufort for a literary vacation via A Happier Life. I can’t wait to introduce you to Rebecca (Becks, to those in the know) and my plucky present-day protagonist Keaton, two indomitable women connected through time by their family house on Sunset Lane.
These women and their world have occupied my mind for well over a year, and now it’s time for the best part: for this story to become your story, too. I love the idea that you will add your imagination, your memories, your insight, and your own history while reading this book, that you will take away just a little something different than I did.
I can’t thank you enough for your support of my novels, and I hope the time you spend in these pages will lead you—as it did Keaton and Becks—to A Happier Life.
With love and gratitude,
Kristy Woodson Harvey

A HAPPIER LIFE is also available from your local, independent bookstore, Bookshop.org, Amazon, Target, Barnes & Noble, Books-a-Million, and everywhere books are sold.
I hope you personally get this email although I have my reservations that probably not. However your books have helped me get through a very big decision in my life, especially the Wedding Veil that even though I’m 70 and have decided to retire there are many adventures ahead of me and it is not what you hold onto it’s what you let go. Thank you for helping me through this difficult time.
