Last week was an absolute blast. I has been hard to come back to my normal life after getting to be a “celebrity” last week! After having escorts and police escorts and being driven around in my own car in a motorcade and not having to stop at stoplights, the real world is very cruel… Fortunately, I came straight to Pinehurst, NC, which might be one of the most wonderful places on earth! Take a peek at a few of my favorite parts of one of the most fun weeks ever!!
The kids at Ogden Elementary put on the most amazing show for us. When we arrived, we were greeted by hundreds of children, all in bow ties and fascinators. So adorable!
Our friends at Barnes & Noble came to one of the luncheons so my new friend AJ Tata and I could sell books. His new Three Minutes to Midnight comes out soon. I can’t wait to start reading it!
Downtown Wilmington was gorgeous, and I was so lucky to have this fabulous view. See the battleship in the distance? We attended a lovely ceremony there!
After the Avett Brothers concert, little Will and I snapped a pic with these gorgeous Miss NC contestants. We can’t wait to see who wins. They are all so wonderful!
The Summerall Guards from The Citadel are unbelievable! They did a presentation for us that I won’t be forgetting soon!
I had a fabulous event at the Wilmington Barnes & Noble and got to meet so many fun readers! It was the first time I had seen Lies and Other Acts of Love in a bookstore!
I got to hang out with my favorite American Idol contestant, Clark Beckham! He is the only contestant I ever actually voted for 🙂 He is so nice!
Yup. That’s me on the back of that Mustang. Riding in a parade is very fun. I highly recommend it!
The best part of any new experience is always the friends you make. And I made so many last week. We spent so much time together they feel like family! Christian and Patti Riddle and AJ Tata are three of those wonderful new people!
The fabulous garden party is one of the most talked about events of the Azalea Festival. It was wonderful in every way–and I’m now an honorary judge. So if you need any disputes settled, give me a call.
