Enjoy Today!

Hi, everyone! I hope you all had an amazing weekend! Can you believe it’s almost Labor Day already? I am seriously shocked to be looking at the calendar and realizing it’s almost SEPTEMBER! It feels like summer is just beginning, and it’s already over.

On the bright side, Will and I both lived through his first week of school, and, lo and behold, he’s EXCITED to go tomorrow! I can’t believe it. So, instead of having airplane takeoff-level anxiety about drop off and whether he’ll play with the other kids or eat his snack or do his work or listen to the teacher or cry the entire time I’m gone or be too nervous to ask to go to the potty, I’m going to just relax and enjoy today! I have interviewed a good number of my friends and not a one of us can remember school when we weren’t even three yet. So, even if he’s not 100% happy the entire day, I’m feeling pretty good that he’s not going to need therapy down the road because of this particular school year. So that’s a big relief.

And I have the entire morning carved out for working on Dear Carolina, which makes me super excited, and I’ll probably only go look at Will through the two-way mirror at school three or four times. 🙂 They’re seriously going to kick me out already. No one can get any teaching done because they spend the entire day buzzing me in.

Anyway, I’m excited to get this week started and hoping that it’s going to be so fun and so productive — for all of us! No matter what your datebook holds, I hope you enjoy today! Thanks so much for coming by today!

  • Kristy,
What a great relief. You know the saying, your only as happy as your child(ren).

I, as a g-ma, was so surprised when our son and daughter-in-law sent our g-daughter to school at 2-something. But you know what, she’s 3 1/2 and loves her school, teachers and friends. I think they get to interact with kids and most seem to love it. Good for Will.
    Enjoy your day.
    Karen

  • So glad all is well and all is good. In the end all of this will be wonderful memories! I can only imagine you popping in to “visit” !!!

    • He didn’t cry today, Patty, so I was really brave and didn’t go check on him at all!! Haha! xo
