Feels Like Falling Launch Day + Debut Episode of Blank to Beautiful

Happy Feels Like Falling launch day, friends! Today, not only is my new book in the world, but Mom and I are launching our new video interview series–that will be airing here and on Design Chic each Tuesday: Blank to Beautiful! We’ll be interviewing designers, writers, artists and creatives about the glorious transformation from blank to beautiful. (Feel free to share the video if you’d like!)

Because today is the launch of my sixth novel, Feels Like Falling, Mom (Beth) did something she’s not too terribly fond of, and took the the camera to interview me about my creative process, my childhood aspirations, the craziest part of launching a book without a tour and lots of fun mother/daughter things. It’s actually really cool to be interviewed by your mom! I might take her on the road with me when we get to go out again!

(And, also, if you’re thinking we’re crazy to launch a book and a new series, we know. But why not, right?!)

Thanks, dear readers, for all your support over the past few years, and these past six books. If you haven’t read one of my books yet, but you’ve been curious, today would be a great time to start! I’m usually on week two of a six-week book tour right about now, traveling around the country and meeting thousands of readers in person, so this launch, needless to say, is going to be a little bit different!

Parade, Working Mother and SheReads called it one of the most anticipated reads of 2020, Frolic and Get Literary want you to read it for Spring, Mary Kay Andrews picked it for her 2020 reading challenge–and called it “your next summer sizzler”–and the Southern Independent Booksellers Association awarded it an “Okra Pick,” meaning they want to hand sell it all season long!

Pick up your copy at your favorite local bookstore, Bookshop.org, Barnes&Noble, Target or wherever books or sold.

(Note: Amazon is temporarily sold out of paperbacks. Thank you! Kindle is available, of course. Thanks for all your support and please considering purchasing from another outlet.)

From “the next major voice in Southern fiction” (Elin Hilderbrand) and the bestselling author of the Peachtree Bluff series comes an odd-couple tale of friendship that asks just how much our past choices define our happiness.

It’s summertime on the North Carolina coast and the livin’ is easy.

Unless, that is, you’ve just lost your mother to cancer, your sister to her extremist husband, and your husband to his executive assistant. Meet Gray Howard. Right when Gray could use a serious infusion of good karma in her life, she inadvertently gets a stranger, Diana Harrington, fired from her job at the local pharmacy.

Diana Harrington’s summer isn’t off to the greatest start either: Hours before losing her job, she broke up with her boyfriend and moved out of their shared house with only a worn-out Impala for a bed. Lucky for her, Gray has an empty guest house and a very guilty conscience.

With Gray’s kindness, Diana’s tide begins to turn. But when her first love returns, every secret from her past seems to resurface all at once. And, as Gray begins to blaze a new trail, she discovers, with Diana’s help, that what she envisioned as her perfect life may not be what she wants at all.

In her warmest, wisest novel yet, Kristy Woodson Harvey delivers a discerning portrait of modern womanhood through two vastly different lenses. Feels Like Falling is a beach bag essential for Harvey fans—and for a new generation of readers.

Thanks so much again for all your support! Tune back in next week when I’ll be interviewing our first designer–Andrew Howard about what inspires him, his favorite projects and creating his dream home.
