Happy St. Patty’s Day! So, in typical Kristy fashion, I had my entire family dressed in green… yesterday. I mean, I’m prepared. Just not at the right time. It’s just as well, though. Little Will slept so late that I was feeling sad I didn’t get to make him green eggs and ham like my mom always made me. We just had green smoothies in the car and that felt a little slacker-ish. So it’s good we got a redo.
Are you into St. Patrick’s Day? I’m sort into every holiday now with Will, but I probably won’t be drinking any Irish beer or anything. But I will pinch my hubby. I mean, so, yes, technically it’s my fault that he wore his cute green-and-white checked dress shirt to work yesterday and doesn’t have another. But I’m a writer. We aren’t that technical. He’s getting the pinch!
On another note, it has been the best thing ever to have bloggers chatting about DEAR CAROLINA and for some reviews to start rolling in. I had to share this one from the amazing Maria at Whiskey Tales with you. I promise I won’t share them all… That would make for a long couple of months!!
“Dear Carolina is an ambitious first book for a young Author indeed, and a book well done. Two mothers different by circumstance, holding space for each other with similar heart, one a biological mother, the other the adoptive mother each tell a love story to their child. This young author has written a story of families coming together in support of each other; it’s a story of pain, heartbreak, renewals and love. Written in beautiful southern voice, it is lyrical.
There have been times when I’ve been asked to read an advance copy and give an honest review but find myself uninterested in the story or writing. In those rare times, I’ll simply decline to publish the review; this time was quite different. Immediately taken with this story from the very first few pages, I found myself wishing I could keep reading instead of working.
The strength of the women, the richness of the characters traveling this story is beautiful, and it’s lovely and it’s brave. It is a book well worth reading for the writing and the story.
I enjoyed Dear Carolina by Kristy Woodson Harvey. I’d recommend to anyone who believes family doesn’t just mean blood relations.”
I wish they could all be that positive! But I guess it would be a boring world if we all loved the same things. A MILLION thanks to all of you for your incredible support. I am humbled every, single day!
Wishing you blessings today, and, of course, a pinch of Irish luck!
Kristy,
How sweet of you to share my review!
{{Big hugs}}
