A Happy Soul

recite-22930-2058492292-jajdaf

Can you believe it’s almost August? I can’t! It just shocks me that the summer, which seems to have just started, is almost over. But, sometimes, this last, long month before Labor Day begins can be the fullest. The entire month of July I feel like I was sort of just coasting along, living in the moment, savoring summer with my family. But I’m starting to get that productive itch again. I’ve been editing the draft of my next novel and have a big meeting about a cool business venture this week and have some great things coming on my design blog, Design Chic. But, all in all, I’m still on beach time and loving every moment until it’s back to reality again in September.

It has taken me awhile, but I have found that I am at my best, happiest and most creative when I take the time to just rest and relax. I think it’s the best cure for writer’s block — or any sort of life block for that matter! And, without fail, in no time at all I’m ready to get back in the full swing of things!

I hope that, wherever you are this week, that you sneak in a little time amidst the chaos to do what makes your soul happy. Thanks for stopping by today!

  • Oh it all sounds so exciting! A new novel and a new adventure…..WOW….
You have been sitting on the edge of the chair …..waiting…..
    REST and enjoy!

  • Kristy,
    How wonderful, a second novel.
You are so right, R&R really does restore the creativity within one. I find every summer I hit a writers block that I have come to discover is really just a way to take a break and relax so that I can recharge the battery with the promise of autumn.
Enjoy the rest of your beach time.
    Karen
