People Who Make Me Laugh!

This seemed like an appropriate quote for this Monday after such a fun weekend! “I love people who make me laugh. I honestly think it’s the thing I like most, to laugh. It cures a multitude of ills. It’s probably the most important thing in a person.” That Audrey Hepburn, she knew what she was talking about!

Our sweet friends are having a baby boy, and we got to celebrate their soon-to-make-his-appearance little one over the weekend. This could easily have been a very stressful weekend, since my book was due yesterday! But, surrounded by friends, having a good time, and, most of all, laughing, made it so much fun! (And, let’s face it, I could read through that book 250 more times, change three words every time, and no one besides me would ever know the difference!)

It was one of those perfect, Southern, summer nights, filled with barbecue and beer (not for the momma!) and lots of cupcakes. I highly suggest couples showers sans baby games. There are only so many times that guessing how much toilet paper will fit around a pregnant woman’s belly is fun…

Yesterday was a great time to celebrate with my dad and my husband, and little Will was more than happy to assist as present-opening specialist for the big day — and share Howdy’s (that’s what he calls my dad!) cool new bean bag chair for the boat.

I love being reminded what’s really important in life, and this was one of those weekends! Whatever this week has in store for you I hope you make time to laugh!

Thanks so much for visiting! I’ll be celebrating an editing-free day!

    • I love that we both had baby showers this weekend, Vel! So fun!!

  • What a fun weekend you enjoyed. We had a wonderful Father’s Day with Mr. B. And our youngest son, he and his sweet wife are expecting their first in mid October. Their friends are hosting a couples shower…sounds like a great way to celebrate a new baby!
