Putting Up More Twinkle Lights!

I think it’s fair to say that You’ve Got Mail is one of the best movies of all time and Kathleen Kelly (aka Meg Ryan) the most charming bookstore owner in cinema history. She certainly coined one of my personal favorite holiday quotes: “It will all shake out. Meanwhile, I’m putting up more twinkle lights.”

There is plenty to be upset about this holiday season, plenty to be worried about, plenty to fret over, both the small stuff and the very, very big. But, for the next few days, at least, it seems like the right time to celebrate despite all of that, focus on the good and, oh yes, hang some more twinkle lights. I figure, if we’re really, really lucky, we get about ninety Christmases to hang those little sparkly things. That’s not that many when you think about it. So we might as well take a page from darling Kathleen and savor each and every one.
