Well, friends, what a wonderful week it has been. I love nothing more than coming out on tour and getting to see all of you, so that has been such a treat for me this launch week of THE WEDDING VEIL. As you might have already guessed… My “something borrowed” in my wedding was the stunning lace mantilla that was a cherished heirloom in my husband’s family. Although, if I’m being honest, I didn’t borrow it well because I haven’t given it back! We are a family of boys on all sides, so no one could figure out the next logical person to pass the veil onto, so I’m the lucky protector of the veil for now.
I’d love to tell you more about it and what it means to me, but I actually wrote a column for Parade.com—part of our Friends & Fiction series—that goes into much more detail about how this special veil inspired my latest novel. Click here to read!
And please do let me know what your something borrowed was! And have you played any fun April Fool’s jokes on anyone??
If you’re looking for a personalized, signed copy of THE WEDDING VEIL, I’ll be at MacIntosh Books tonight. They are taking orders and will be happy to ship one your way!
Southern Living Feature!
I was featured this week in an article by Southern Living. The article it says, “In The Wedding Veil, Kristy Woodson Harvey examines one of the most fascinating women in American history, Edith Vanderbilt, and her heroic efforts to save the Biltmore estate after her husband George’s death in 1914.
With dual plot lines, Harvey weaves Vanderbilt’s mission to preserve the iconic 250-room mansion with the present-day story of a fictional character named Julia Baxter, and the wedding veil her family has passed down for generations” Click here to read the full article!
