Tickets for The Peachtree Bluff Takeover on Sale NOW!

I am so happy to announce that tickets for the main event of the THE SOUTHERN SIDE OF PARADISE tour, the Peachtree Bluff Takeover, are available now from Beaufort Historic Site.

A Note About the Takeover…

The path of the Murphy women in my Peachtree Bluff series has largely been shaped by the adversity that has made them stronger. And, this past year, that has also been true of my town, the inspiration for the Peachtree Bluff Series, Beaufort, NC. Hurricane Florence—and Hurricane Michael on its heels—brought devastating flooding and destruction to some of our most cherished historical homes, sites and properties, the things that perhaps make this pre-revolutionary town most special.

This summer will mark a rising from the ashes of sorts for not only my own historic home but for so many of the businesses, restaurants and houses that make this town unique. But in Beaufort, as in Peachtree Bluff, while the places and things are wonderful, it is the people that make us, that lend us that certain undefinable something that is hard to describe but impossible not to feel. And, while being brought to your lowest point is always hard, it is also true that, quite often, ruin is the road to transformation. And so it was with Beaufort.

For this reason and so many others, this seemed like the perfect time to bring readers from all over the country to my corner of the world, the town that captured my heart and created the story that, I am grateful to say, has captured so many others. On June 1, I would be so thrilled if you would join me in celebrating not only the end of my first book series (and fifth novel), but also the renaissance of the town that has been heralded as America’s Best Small Town, America’s Coolest Small Town, America’s Most Romantic Town, and, most recently, was named The Best Small Town in the South by Southern Living. Ticket fees for the Peachtree Bluff Takeover’s bus tours, luncheon, VIP Cocktail Party and dinner will all benefit Beaufort Historical Association, which is the organization that is responsible for ensuring that our town remains historically accurate and wholly intact not just for this generation, but for generations to come—and is more important now than ever as we continue to rebuild.

That preservation is at the heart of everything this organization does, and a cause extremely dear to me. My husband once said that he didn’t feel like our piece of history in Beaufort was oursas much as we were taking care of it for the next half-century or so until it was time for another couple to come along, put their mark on it, and make it their own. I feel that way about our stories too. Because our homes, like our stories, can only be fully loved and appreciated once they are shared.

I would be thrilled to share this next chapter—in my town, and this story—with you. If you would like to be my join me this summer in the real Southern Side of Paradise, please visit Beaufort Historic Site for tickets.
